Wilma Louise (Tebaldi) Saunders, 96, of Piqua, died Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born March 11, 1929 in Southborough, Massachusetts to the late Terenzio and Augusta (Facondini) Tebaldi. She was a 1946 graduate of the former Peter's High School in Southborough.
In 1946, she studied to become a registered X-Ray Technician at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts. This was followed by employment there and subsequently at the Boston Dispensary in Boston, Massachusetts.
She married Dr. Edmund L. Saunders in December 1955 and they moved to Ohio in 1956 where they lived out their lives. She then worked at the former Piqua Memorial Hospital in the X-Ray Department. Her last place of employment was as secretary for Piqua Radiologists, Inc. Additionally, Wilma was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Together, Wilma and Edmund raised four children: Debra (Alan) Giesseman of Piqua, Jeffrey (Joan) Saunders of Fairfield, Dr. Gregory (Joanne) Saunders of Delavan, Wisconsin, and Mark (Jenny) Saunders of Westerville. They have six grandchildren: Peter, Gabrielle, Charles, Kristen, Graham, and Nathaniel; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her sisters, Rena Blais, Lidia Kiley; and her brother, Gino Tebaldi.
Local arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Morris-Johnston Funeral Home in Southborough, Massachusetts is in charge of final arrangements. A private service for the family will be held with interment at Southborough Rural Cemetery in Southborough, Massachusetts. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 310 S.
