William R. “Billy” Jaqua II, 67, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born November 7, 1954 in Piqua to the late William R. and Betty J. (Stephens) Jaqua, Sr. He married Ann M. Hirt August 26, 1978 in Piqua; and she survives.
Other survivors include four children, Natalie (Rusty) Young of Piqua, Bill (Katie) Jaqua of Hinsdale, Illinois, Addison (Hillary) Jaqua of Covington, Adrian (Mary) Jaqua of Dayton; and ten grandchildren, and expecting his eleventh. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael D. Jaqua who was killed in Vietnam.
Billy was a 1973 graduate of Piqua Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wright State University. He was an entrepreneur who was involved in many different industries. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and was an avid golfer. He was a past member of the Piqua Jaycees and cherished the friendships he made during those years. Additionally, he enjoyed being heavily involved in political activism. Throughout the years, Billy liked being engaged in his community and enjoyed the opportunity to be philanthropic; always very giving of his time and talents through his community involvement. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and always remembered for his outspoken opinions, total honesty, quick wit, spontaneity and sense of humor.
A graveside service to honor his life will be held privately at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
