WALTER QUEEN Obituary

Walter F. Queen, 56, of Piqua, arrived in Heaven on Friday, December 20, 2024. He was born December 15, 1968, in Troy to the late Roger and Cora (Larck) Queen. He married Sheryl (Simmons) Queen on August 2, 2002, in Tipp City at the Upper Room Worship Center.

Walt is survived by his wife and best friend, Sheryl Queen; four children, Ashley (Dave) Bowman of Pleasant Hill, Kevin (Lisa) Queen of Tipp City, Amanda (Jorden) Mumaw of Bradford, and Cody Campbell of Bradford; seven grandchildren, Ethan Evans, Abigail Evans, Connor Bowman, Grace Queen, Jorden Mumaw II, Willow Mumaw and Meadow Mumaw; eight siblings, Julie Martin, Cora (Sonny) Cromer, and Roger (Rita) Queen all of Piqua, Thelma (David) Matthews of Miamisburg, Lena Pierce, Kathy Smith, and Larry Smith all of Piqua, and Dave (Deb) Smith of Troy; and his furry son, Taz; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Brittany; both parents; his brother, Daniel Stevens; and his granddaughter, Lucy Queen. Walt obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Bluffton University and his Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Walt was the proud owner of Queen Exhibits in Piqua, along with his wife, where they started in a home office and grew to three successful buildings with 20+ employees working under them. Walt was a member of the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce, where Queen Exhibits was given multiple awards. He was a member of the EDPA, his industry organization. Where he made many friends. He attended Upper Room Worship Center in Tipp City. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, spending time with family, bow hunting whitetail deer. He poured his soul into his company and his favorite quote was “It’s not work if you love it.” Walt’s family, education, and business were his pride and joy. Walt created countless sentimental memories and instilled prime morals and values in his children and grandchildren. He had a quirky personality and a contagious smile. Walt has left his mark here on earth as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, business owner, teacher, and friend. He had a lasting impact on the world and leaves behind a legacy through his influence and actions which will carry on for generations.

Walt was a private man and has requested only friends and family. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Walt’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Upper Room Worship Center in Tipp City with Pastor Gregory Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, also at the Upper Room Worship Center. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Morgan’s Place Cemetery www.morgansplacecemetery.org.
