Victoria A. "Vicki" Couchois, 78, of Piqua, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1948, in Piqua to the late Charles and Helen (Thomas) Collins. She married Richard E. "Dick" Couchois December 21, 1974 in Piqua and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2011.
Vicki is survived by her sister and brother in law, Micki and Robert Heater of Piqua; numerous extended family members, Scott (Rachel) Stump and their daughter Kayla, Rob (Julie) Stump and their son Drew, Jeff (Nancy) Heater, Carrie (Mitch) Divens and their children Ashley, Blake, and Chase, Robert (Tiffany) Heater and their sons Elliott and Elijah, and Anne (Jon) Moore and their children Stephanie, Chloe, and Sutter; very special friends, Jason (Sara) Townsend, and Kevin Wise; also numerous other relatives and friends. She was recently preceded in death by her close friend, Mark S. Cruse.
Vicki was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1966 and attended Miami University. She returned to her alma mater to serve as the Treasurer for Piqua City Schools for 38 years and retired in 2004. Vicki was a longtime, faithful member of St. Paul's Church, and was very active in the administration of the Church and held various roles throughout the years. She loved her church family and was especially fond of the music played and sang on Sundays and at programs. Vicki was driven to serve and give back to her community and volunteered and sat on many boards and committees. She was on the Board for Friends of the Public Library, the Board Director for Meals on Wheels, on the Board for the Mills/Bogart Brothers Scholarship Committee, she was the past President of Miami Valley School Business Officials, was a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials, also the Ohio School Board Association. She was a member of the Columbian Association. Vicki was always willing to lend her time and talents to helping others succeed and to improve our community for all. She will surely be missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of Vicki's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026 at St. Paul's Church with Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church, 500 N. Downing St., Piqua, OH 45356 or to the Piqua Education Foundation, 111 W. Ash St., Piqua, OH 45356.
