Vicki Lynn Shook, 73, of Piqua, was received into the loving embrace of her Heavenly Father, having passed from this life into the next, Christmas Day at 2:00 p.m. This came after a short but difficult bout with various health conditions over the previous 4 months.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Randy Shook; two sons, Brett (Jamie) Burchett and Benjamin Burchett; three step-daughters Sarah (Terry) Caccia, Annie (Thomas) Shields, and Molly (JC) Canaday; a sister Dixie (Bill) Patterson; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vicki is also remembered fondly by her many friends at Piqua Christian Church where she had been attending for the majority of her life.
Vicki was born January 11th, 1952 to parents Ralph and Mary Helen Swallow (later Mary Helen (William) Dill). She was a 1970 graduate of Piqua Central High School where she was a proud member of the marching band playing coronet, French horn, and clarinet. Vicki worked at various retail and office jobs, and as an aide in the Piqua City School system, before beginning her final career at Perfecto Industries, progressing to head of the parts department until her retirement.
Vicki volunteered in several capacities after her retirement. She was a cook for the Piqua Community Kitchen and served as both a greeter and member of the prayer team at Piqua Christian Church. Her love for music and for God led her to become director of the Piqua Christian Church choir and also director of the Piqua Association of Churches Community Choir whom she performed with just this last Christmas season despite her declining health. This was a testimony to her love for music, singing, and the people she led and sang with. Vicki was a light to those she came in contact with and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. David Fishback officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to the Piqua Community Kitchen, c/o Piqua Christian Church, 3969 State Route 185, Piqua, OH 45356.
