VERNON J. QUINTER

Vernon J. Quinter, 84, of Piqua, passed away at 3:33 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his residence. He was born November 8, 1941 in Piqua to the late Edward and Louise (Bergman) Quinter.  Vernon married Judith R. Couchot on November 28, 1963 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Piqua; and she survives.

Survivors include a son, Butch (Mikie) Quinter of Piqua; a daughter, Elizabeth (Tim) Horner of Piqua; four grandchildren, Chase Quinter, Joslyn Quinter, TJ (Michelle) Horner, Zachary (Alisha) Horner all of Piqua; four great-grandchildren, Dominic, Haden, Lily, Emilia and two siblings, Ralph Quinter of Piqua; Erma (Joseph) Hagan of Tipp City. Vernon was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Annice Quinter, RSM.  

Vernon was the former owner of Vern's Auto Sales in Piqua. He also worked for the former Hardenbrook Ford in Piqua. Vernon was a graduate of Piqua Catholic High School class of 1960 and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Vern enjoyed his place at the lake, fishing, boating and jet skiing with family and great group of friends. He was a proud “Harley” rider and put on many miles of travel with family and friends. Vern was well known for his “Vern Red” trucks and classic red Thunderbird.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Steve Shoup as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
