Troy A. Green, 85, of Piqua, passed away at 4:02 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1938 in Clayborn County, Tennessee to the late James Verlin and Nancy (Anderson) Green. He married Phyllis J. Ward September 14, 1957 in Christiansburg; and she preceded him in death January 4, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa (Ted) Hollis, Anita Kay Wagner, both of Piqua; a son, Tony (Karla) Green of St. Paris; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Cole, and Gennivee Lawson, both of Piqua. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosalee Vanover, Anna Green, and Mildred Green.
Mr. Green worked for the former Hawker Manufacturing and Kettering Tool and Die for over 30 years before he retired. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Piqua until its closure, then was a longstanding member of the Covington Eagles. He was also a member of the Troy Fish & Game. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. Mostly, he loved to mow and meticulously care for his lawn which he always kept immaculate.
A service to honor his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
