Thomas J. Gustafson, 68, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 2:12 a.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024 in the comfort of his home. He was born April 26, 1956 in Mankato, Minnesota to the late Maynard and Connie (Blow) Gustafson. He married Cheryl L. Diede August 20, 1977 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota; and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jessie (Teearii) Morrow of Sidney, Jodi (Jason) Hess of Piqua; six grandchildren, Alexandria, Cayden, Dayne, Jaxon, Allison, Georgia; three brothers, Dennis Gustafson of Nevada, Peter (Trixie) Gustafson of Nevada, Ryan (Jamie) Gustafson of Nevada; two sisters, Cheryl Foix of Minnesota, Judy Watson of Arkansas; and a niece, Mindy (Scott) Baker of California.
Tom was a 1974 graduate of Northland High School and went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University in 1978. He worked as an engineer for Hartzell Air Movement where he worked his way up to the Vice President of Engineering and retired as the Chief Technology Officer after 31 years of dedication. He was proud to be selected as a board member for the International Air Movement & Control Association. He was a devout member of Central Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Treasurer and Song Leader. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, cross-stitching and building model trains and railroads. Additionally, he enjoyed traveling with his family and exploring the vastness of the United States. He will be remembered as a hard worker, dedicated husband, loving father, and servant for the Lord.
A service to honor his life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Nicholas Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
