Susan J. Gregory, 73, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly at 8:17 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. She was born December 5, 1948 in Piqua to the late James “Jim” and Jean (Donnelly) Foster. She married Boyd Gregory April 13, 1984 in Covington; and he survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Angie (Mike) Smith-Yager of Piqua; a stepdaughter, Dana Stevens of Troy; a stepson, Oliver (Pamela) Gregory of Bradford; four grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew) Smith-Stewart, Tyler Broaddrick, Austin Stevens, Ashley (Patrick) Wolf; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Doug (Deb) Foster of Piqua, Steven (Jen) Foster of Piqua; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Glen) Helton, Betty (Bob) Phipps, both of Pineville, Kentucky; four brothers-in-law, Mark Burch of Piqua, Charlie Gregory, Winston Gregory, Eddie Gregory, all of Pineville, Kentucky; an uncle-in-law, Otis Gregory of Troy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Burch in 2021.
Mrs. Gregory was a 1967 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She worked for Medalist Allen-A before transitioning to a loom operator for Orr Felt, from which she retired after forty-five years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3998, the Loyal Order of Moose 2695, an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #184 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4874. She loved to play cards, and looked forward to her weekly card games with her group of ladies. She was an excellent dancer and loved to line dance. She enjoyed working crafts and spending her weekends at Rustic Haven Campground for the past 16 years. She was also a lover of animals, especially her beloved cat, Katie. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith A. Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At the request of the family, please consider dressing casually.
