Sondra L. Pocsi, 83, of Covington, more recently of Sidney, passed away peacefully at 10:22 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025 in the comfort of her home. She was born October 18, 1941 in Dayton to the late Byron and Annabelle (Ell) Dull. She married Andrew J. Pocsi May 20, 1961 in Dayton; and he preceded her in death May 24, 2015.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl (David) South of Sidney; two granddaughters, Heather (John) Illick, Holly (Philip) Lengefeld; four great grandchildren, Theron, Dorothea, Alexander, Adriel; and expecting one more great granddaughter, Eliana; and a brother, William Dull of Dayton.
Mrs. Pocsi was a 1959 graduate of Kiser High School in Dayton and she attended Sinclair Community College. She worked for many years as a buyer for Crane Pumps and later for Friendly’s. She was a longtime member of the American Business Women’s Association. She loved to travel, especially if it meant going to the beach. She enjoyed playing golf with her friends; she also loved a good shopping trip and was also an avid reader. Most importantly, she loved her family and enjoyed making them feel special on holidays and birthdays and was known to go “all out” for her family and loved to entertain. She will be deeply missed.
A service to honor her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Center Memorial Community Library, PO Box 581 Jackson Center, OH 45334.
