Shirley A. Swallow, 86, of Piqua, passed away at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born June 14, 1938 in Piqua to the late Raymond and Helen (Ford) Mader. She married Earl R. “Sam” Swallow; and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Richard Swallow of Troy; two daughters, Rhonda (John) Roeth of Piqua, Reesa (Mike) Hall of Sidney; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Viola Deal of Piqua, and Edith Fellers of Piqua. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Mader, Bill Mader, John Mader; and a son, Randy Swallow.
Mrs. Swallow was a 1956 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She worked as a press operator for Industry Products from which she retired. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and their dogs. She liked watching game shows and doing fill-in puzzles. Shirley enjoyed spending time outdoors tending her flower gardens. She also took pride in her extensive angel collection.
A private service to honor her life will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
