Scott L. Halm, 65, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the comfort of his home. He was born November 24, 1956 in Piqua to the late Ward L. “Louie” and Henrietta (Carter) Halm. He married Jacquelin T. Thomas May 20, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada; and she survives.
Other survivors include a stepson, Rob (Melanie) Valentine of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Julie (Samuel Reck) Landers of Piqua; two grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexandra; a brother, Dick (Susan) Hodges of Piqua; a sister, Lou Ellen (Cork) Oakes of Piqua; his nieces and nephews, Faye Oakes, Cody (Colleen) Oakes, Brent (Janel) Hodges; and his great nephews.
Mr. Halm was a 1975 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked as an over the road truck driver for over twenty-five years. He then became the proud owner and operator of SHarpco where he specialized in tool sharpening. Scott loved cars, whether he was restoring them, participating and attending car shows or enjoying them at races; especially NASCAR. He also enjoyed spending time driving his sand buggy. Scott was a patient and caring man who loved his family and was happy to share his advice and opinion with you. He was a constant in the lives of his family and was always happy to help; no matter if it was as the family taxi driver, the house mover, mechanic, or anything in between, he would gladly lend a hand. He was willing to drive to Columbus, Alabama or North Carolina whenever his family needed him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private service to honor his life will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter, 1110 N. County Rd. 25A, Troy, OH 45373 or to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N. County Rd. 25A. Troy, OH 45373. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
