SCOTT EDGELL Obituary

Scott A. Edgell, 61, of Piqua, passed away at 6:54 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the comfort of his sister’s home. He was born June 6, 1960 in Troy to the late William “Bill” and Marilyn (Gephart) Edgell.

Survivors include one sister, Betty (Jeff) Brownlee, and two brothers, Billy Edgell, Brian (Jamie) Edgell, all of Piqua; a bonus daughter, Jerrica Graham of Piqua; the light of his life and grandchild, Bristol Graham; and many nieces, Megan (Konrad) Modschiedler, Haley (Levi) Homer, Olivia Edgell, Rayna Brownlee, and Calleigh Edgell. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Scott “Scotty” Edgell.

Scott was known as a hardworking and selfless man that was there for his friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering, and spending time with his friends where he was known lovingly as “Elvis” to most of them. Scott was a well-respected self-employed auto body repairman and mechanic for most of his life, and also worked at various factories. Alongside his dad, he owned a car lot where they would spend time together fixing and selling cars. Scott was an avid racing fan. He loved NASCAR and on weekends he could be found at Shady Bowl and Eldora Speedway. He enjoyed racing so much that some weekends he could be found on the race track himself driving as he owned and raced his own cars throughout the years. Even when he wasn’t racing, he was found helping friends and other racers work on their cars and cheering them on. The family would also like to thank, Sheila Edgell and the friends that visited Scott during this journey. They would also wish to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Miami County for their great care and support.

A service to honor his life will begin at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
