Samuel A. Stephenson, 85, of Troy, passed away at 4:58 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home. He was born February 29, 1940 in Piqua to the late Samuel T. and Helen L. (Weymer) Stephenson. He married Beth (Montgomery) Stephenson June 25, 1982 in Sunnyside, Washington, and she survives.

Sam is also survived by five children, Brent (Lisa) LaMotte of Seattle, Washington, Curtiss LaMotte of Sunnyside, Washington, Jeffery (Connie) Stephenson of Piqua, Kelly (James) Peepels of Troy, and Tammy Vaughn of Piqua; numerous grand and great grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas "Bud" (Jeannette) Stephenson of Bradford, and Donald (Patti) Stephenson of Cincinnati; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two children, Tonjua Lynn Stephenson and Christopher Scott Apple; three sisters and two brothers.

Sam was a graduate of Houston High School, Class of 1958. Following graduation, Sam honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at IPC and Aerovent, but was a lifelong farmer. Sam was a longtime, faithful member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. He was also a longtime member of the Sabbar Shriners and Masonic Lodge, and was Past Master of the Tucson Lodge, where he and Beth lived for almost 20 years. In his free time Sam enjoyed working with wood and was very skilled, creating many beautiful pieces. Sam also enjoyed playing cornhole and shuffleboard, and traveled to almost every state with Beth except for Hawaii, and the 7 Northeast States. Above all else, Sam loved his family and adored his wife Beth. He will truly be missed by all who loved him.
