Sally J. Harbin, 86, of Piqua, passed away at 12:27 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Miami County Hospice. She was born July 18, 1935 in Piqua to the late Joseph D. Wise and Clarice “Kay” (Brucker) Stanton. She married Robert L. Harbin January 11, 1972 in Piqua; and he preceded her in death February 28, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Jeremy Harbin of Warren, David Dershem of Covington; two daughters, Rebecca (David) Ferguson of Wellington, Kentucky, Julie (Paul) Snyder of Plant City, Florida; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ann Elliott and Barbara Garrity, both of Piqua. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger “Buck” Wise, George Wise; and her stepfather, Bill Stanton.
Mrs. Harbin was a 1956 graduate of Covington High School. She attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She worked as an Operator for the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company; from which she retired. She opened her home for many foster children through the years and cared for her foster children well. She enjoyed her time at the Sunrise Center for Adults. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and loved attending games. She loved crossword and jigsaw puzzles and was a gifted poet. Above all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with he children and grandchildren.
A service to honor her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Chaplain Ed Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunrise Center for Adults, 316 N.
