Ruth “Joan” Roboski, 93, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 8:15 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 at StoryPoint Assisted Living. She was born August 5, 1931 in Piqua to the late Clarence and Grace (Pottorf) Willcox. She married Arthur Bricker in 1950; and he preceded her in death in 1959. She then married Anthony Roboski in 1966; and he preceded her in death in 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Mike) Symons of St. James City, Florida, Irene (Robert) Davis of Covington; a son, Kenneth (Joyce) Bricker of Piqua; seven grandchildren, including two very special granddaughters, Erin Taylor and Tracy Fosler who diligently cared for Joan and made sure she had everything she needed over the last few years; nine great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bill Bricker, Larry “Keith” Bricker; six brothers, Robert, Leo, Richard, Murray, Ward, Merle; and two sisters, Dorothy Jamison, and Helen Schneider.
Joan was a 1949 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She worked for over 40 years as an accountant for Crane Pumps and retired at the age of 75. She enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful blankets for her family. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, and watching the Hallmark Channel, specifically when the Christmas movies began to run. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed baking pies. Additionally, she adored all of her grandchildren and looked forward to her Saturday trips to Meijer for her groceries with her great-great grandchildren.
A service to honor her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith A. Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N.
