RUSSELL E. FLEMING SR.

Russell E. Fleming, Sr., 61, of Piqua, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Buckeye Forest Nursing Home. He was born March 9, 1964 in Sidney to the late Janice (Fleming) Roth.

Survivors include three children, Russell (Kendra Schmidt) Fleming, Jr. of Sidney, Jessica (Kenny) Baugh of Palm Bay, Florida, Jo Ann Sisler of Huber Heights; twelve grandchildren, Darian, Dominic, Maryssa, Damien, Caleb, Madison, Jacob, Noah, Hannah, Isabella, Jackson, Gracelyn; a sister, Betsy (Anthony) Rice of North Hampton; his Uncle James & Aunt Gayle of Ocala, Florida, Aunt Jo (Junior) Taylor of Sidney, Uncle Tom & Aunt Sherry Fleming of Sidney, Uncle David Fleming of Sidney; the mother of his children, Ginger Elsass; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Roth; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mr. Fleming served proudly in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was extremely proud of his military service and spoke of it with regularity. He worked as a mechanic for many years. He had a knack for fixing things, especially if it included a motor. He loved to do anything that involved working with tools and was a very good mechanic. He worked at Poor Farmers Campground for several years and he enjoyed helping his family maintain their personal vehicles. He loved his family deeply and will be missed greatly by those who loved him.

A private service to honor his life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being provided to his family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity in Russell’s name.
