ROY F. HOWARD

Roy F. Howard, 83, of Piqua, passed away at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born January 22, 1940 in Crockett, Kentucky to the late Sylvester and Molly (Ferguson) Howard Fannin.

Survivors include his life partner of over 40 years, Rita Kiser of Piqua; two children, Crystal Howard of Piqua, Fred Howard of Florida; five grandchildren, Keesha Howard, Charity Young, Jeremy Howard, Freddrick Howard Jr., Christiana Allen; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche (Bueford) Wright of Dayton, Bernice Lewis of Sandyhook, Kentucky; a brother, Don Howard of Piqua; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Howard, Oakey Fannin; and a son, Rodney Howard.

Mr. Howard was a property manager in the Piqua area for many years. He was the former owner and operator of Roy’s Auto Wrecking Yard and Howard Construction. He could be found with regularity riding his Harley. He was a member of the Piqua Fish & Game, Troy Fish & Game, Troy and Covington Eagles, the Newport Sportsman’s Club, and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid marksman and loved to shoot trap and sporting clays. He also loved to play cards, playing the Queen of Hearts in various locations and enjoyed gambling. He was a great friend to many and cared deeply for his family and friends.

A service to honor his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In honor of Roy’s love of motorcycles and his Harley, please be casual and wear Harley-Davidson attire. All of Roy’s motorcycle friends are encouraged to ride in procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
