Rosemary L. Smitley, 58, of Piqua, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born February 12, 1965 in Piqua to the late Robert and Marletta (Richardson) Rike.
Survivors include her two daughters, Dawn (Ashley Greer) Smitley of Fairborn, Heather Smitley of Piqua; three grandchildren, Payton Littleton, Madeline Quillen, Dylan Ward; a great grandson, Royce Burns; two sisters, Melinda (Jeremy) Clark of Sidney, April (Harold) Brandon of Sidney; a brother, Robert (Della) Rike of Brookville; her two beloved grand-dogs, Rousey, Elton; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Rosemary attended Piqua Central High School and worked as a machine operator for Fruedenberg NOK for over twenty-two years. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible, and enjoyed playing board games, and card games with them. Additionally, she enjoyed crocheting. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
A service to honor her life will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Elmore officiating. Private burial will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
