Roselyn D. Staley, 89, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 5:01 a.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born March 3, 1934 in Piqua to the late Keller and Thelma (Mills) Sanders. She married Charles E. “Chuck” Staley April 30, 1954 in Indiana, he preceded her in death March 16, 1982. She then married F. Lawrence Lange in 1984, then ultimately enjoyed the company of her life partner, R. Bruce Whited for over 25 years.
Survivors include a son, Steven K. (Gail) Staley of Piqua; two grandsons, Charles Ryan (September) Staley, Drew Staley; four great grandchildren, Tegan, Rowan, Lenox, Silas; a brother, Charles I. (Shirley) Sanders of Piqua, nieces and nephews, Amy Levering, Sharon Erlemeier and Scott (Peter Wilson) Sanders. She was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Levering; and a daughter-in-law, Karen S. Staley.
Mrs. Staley was a 1952 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She had been an active member of Greene Street United Methodist Church, and their Christmas Market. She enjoyed memberships with the Greenleaf Garden Club, Order of the Eastern Star and the Piqua Country Club. She will be remembered for being a wonderful homemaker, zest for life and friendship.
A service to honor her life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Will Leasure officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
