Rosalie A. “Rosie” Cooper, 80, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 9:09 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born February 26, 1942 in Piqua to the late Anderson and Lillie (Martin) Morton. She married Alfred E. “Al” Cooper December 29, 1967 in Piqua; and he survives.
Other survivors include five children, Tom (Brenda) Shaner of Piqua, Donna (Gene) Ehemann of Anna, Julie (Kenny) Epley of Nebraska, Cindy (Tom) Paul of Piqua, David (Beth) Cooper of Trotwood; a daughter-in-law, Kyle Cooper of Piqua; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and expecting one more; one great-great grandson; and two sisters, Judy Morton of Piqua, and Joy Swafford of Bloomington, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Anderson, Robert; and a son, Alan Cooper.
Rosie was a graduate of Piqua High School. She worked for Hobart Manufacturing as well as Greene Street Day Care and she truly enjoyed caring for children. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching soap operas and the Golden Girls. She was a lover of dogs and leaves behind her beloved pup, Erin. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her deep love for her family. She will be missed by her family who loved her dearly.
A private service to honor her life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
