Ronald O. Yount, 92 years old of Piqua, Ohio died on April 6, 2026 in the comfort of his home. He was born April 25, 1933 to the late Emerson & Bessie Yount. He married Edythe L. Stahl on April 14, 1956 and she preceded him in death on August 28, 2013.
Other survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Lee) Thompson and Lucinda (Dennis) Penrod and one son, Douglas (Beverly) Yount. Six grandchildren, Chad Ryan, Brad (Megan) Ryan, Rob (Jodi) Chapman, Megan (Fiancé Jordan Gerardi) Stillwell, Macy (Thomas) Brown, and Holden Yount. Twelve Great-Grandchildren, Nora Richards, Ashlee Ryan, Brinn Ryan, Brooks Ryan, Jilian (Fiancé Devan Wuebker) Chapman, Izabella Chapman, Chance Chapman, Grady Stillwell, Knox Stillwell, Piper Stillwell, Bailey Brown & Nolan Brown. One Great-Great Grandchild, Beckett Wuebker.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita A. Brumbaugh, Norma J. Reed, and Louella E. Scherer.
Mr. Yount was a 1951 graduate of Piqua High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of S/Sgt and was a member of the Piqua America Legion #184 for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Piqua Elks # 523 for 50 years and served in various officer positions including two terms as Exalted Ruler and was known to be an avid bowler in their league for over 50 years. He was a member of Greene Street United Methodist Church. He retired from Aerovent after 29 years of service. You couldn't find a more dedicated Cincinnati Reds' fan, he didn't miss a game and knew all the players and stats. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye football and Cincinnati Bengals fan. His most prized companion was his faithful and loyal Boston Terrier, Barney, who has kept him company since the loss of his wife. He thoroughly enjoyed his glazed donuts, ginger snaps and ice cream treats almost daily. The family would like to thank the staff at Piqua Manor & DayCity Hospice for their compassionate care for Ron during his final months.
A service to honor Ron's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Will Leasure officiating. Due to a previously scheduled event at the cemetery, the burial will not take place on Saturday following the service. A graveside service for Ron will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026 at Miami Memorial Park with full military honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #184, 301 W.
