ROBERT C. HECKMAN
Robert C. Heckman, 87, of Piqua, passed away at 8:04 a.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1934 in Ottawa to the late Alvin B. and Mildred G. (Ellerbrock) Heckman. He married Mary Evelyn Streacker November 22, 1956, a marriage that would span 65 years; and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Tami M. (Tom) Echemann of Indian Lake, Lori S. (Mark) Monroe of Somerset, Kentucky; two sons, Robert A. (Jennifer) Heckman of Piqua, Eric T. (Dana) Heckman of Arcanum; ten grandchildren, Andrew (Cailyn) Echemann, Tricia (Ben) Randolph, Kelli Echemann, Tina Echemann, Kathleen (Joseph) Deer, Robert Heckman, Monica Heckman, Michelle Heckman, Ambor Fulton, Adam Monroe; nineteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a sister, Janet M. (William) Risk of Chocowinity, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Heckman, a sister, Joyce Rose, and a great granddaughter Amelia Bea Randolph.
Mr. Heckman was a 1952 graduate of Piqua Catholic High School and founded the successful Custom Aerosol Packaging in 1969 from which he retired. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #3344, Knights of St. John Commandary #194, Border City Luncheon Club, and the Golden Boys Golf Club. He loved his family and enjoyed being an accomplished potter all of his life having been featured at the Piqua Heritage Festival, Taste of the Arts, and other Community events. Additionally, he was a self taught magician, guitarist, pianist and enjoyed traveling, golfing and socializing with friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, friendship and positive attitude.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel P. Hunt as the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in his name are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 310 S.
