Ritchie Lee Williams, 71, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his home. He was born December 10, 1952 in Piqua to the late Dorothy Mae (Williams) Browner. He married Christina Schneider April 3, 1982 in Buena Vista, California and she survives.
Ritchie is also survived by eight children, Curtis Kinnel of Troy, Jason Johnson of Hawaii, Rozalynn (Jason) Roberts of Piqua, Rachel Williams of Atlanta, Randii (Derrick) Thornhill of Piqua, Julia (Bret) Atkins of Piqua, Erica (Tony Cox) Campbell of Piqua, and Joshua Campbell of Indiana; 23 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Jacqueline (Sherwin) Mack of Michigan, and Tammy, Lori, and Duncan Browner of Ohio; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Toni Nicole Cox.
Ritchie attended Piqua Central High School and entered into the Marines briefly during High School. Ritchie was always patriotic and enjoyed attending Veteran's Day programs at his grandchildren's schools. He worked as a semi-truck driver for many years at Piqua Transfer. He retired from the City of Piqua, where he worked in the Street Department, after more than 10+ years of service. Ritchie was a member of Second Street Baptist Church and loved being involved with the praise and worship group, and loved music. Ritchie was a diehard Los Angeles Lakers fan, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and admired classic and new cars. He loved to eat good food, watch Big Time Wrestling and his stories that he never missed. Ritchie liked to play cards and dominos with family and friends, and was always social and the life of the party. Family was the most important thing to Ritchie, he loved taking his grandchildren on vacations, he coached his children's soccer teams and made it a point to attend the grandchildren's sports and events. He will truly be missed by all who loved him.
A service to honor his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Transformed Life Church; Bishop Brian Hamilton with Bishop Ted C. Willis Jr. and Co Pastor Cheryl Ann Willis, along with Pastor H. Eugene Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County.
