Richard L. “Dick” Brownlee, 77, of Piqua, more recently of Sidney, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born April 7, 1946 in Piqua to the late William R. and Helen L. (Burig) Brownlee. He married M. Jane Eilerman June 2, 1995; and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Rick (Anna) Brownlee of Tipp City, Jeff (Betty) Brownlee of Piqua; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and expecting a fourth in December; and a sister, Linda (Sam) Robinson of Piqua.
Dick was a 1964 graduate of Piqua Central High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He was a self employed entrepreneur and “All Around Good Guy”. He worked in the healthcare field for many years and pioneered the home healthcare field in the Miami Valley after taking care of his grandmother. He was also active in the real estate business where he kept up as an active broker. Additionally, he taught real estate courses to prospective realtors at Edison State Community College. He was an avid fisherman since his childhood when he would take trips to Canada with his parents and grandparents; and would keep this tradition alive with his own children. He was also a devoted golfer and enjoyed his yearly trips to Florida and the Carolinas to play with his Celina Golf Group. Dick had a mind for business and a knack for finance. He was an excellent motivator and kept his motto of, “work smart, not hard, and find others to do the hard work”. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a diehard fan of the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed spending time playing Euchre at the VFW. More than anything, he was a devoted, caring and generous man, friend, and father who was very generous with his time, money and talent. He will be deeply missed by many.
