Richard J. “Dick” Caulfield (aka Pa, Dad, Grandpapa, Dickydoo), 78, of Piqua, more recently of Bradenton, FL passed away December 30, 2024 surrounded by family at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born August 18, 1946 in Piqua to the late Aloysius A. and Mary C. (Maxwell) Caulfield. Dick is survived by his wife and best friend, Louise Caulfield.
Dick was the proud and loving father of three children with his late wife Sharon Ann (Riegert) Caulfield; Jennifer St. Hill, Nick Caulfield, and Jeff (Sarah) Caulfield; the beloved Grandpapa of three grandchildren, Kyley St. Hill, Conor and Gavin Caulfield; step father to Kim and Dominic Provencher; and step grandfather to Mathis, Stella-Rose, Valentina, and Analiese.
He was a 1964 graduate of Piqua Catholic High School. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and Wright State University, taught and coached at Lehman Catholic High School, and was a past member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He served proudly in the United States Army, was an avid supporter of the Military and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
He led global sales teams at pharmaceutical firms including Bristol Myers and Roberts Pharmaceuticals before he retired. He loved to watch and play golf and had the craziest golf swing that always drew attention. He was a collegiate football fan spending untold hours cheering on the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, Tulane Green Wave, and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Dick had an inherent love for life and family… and Miller Lite with good company. He felt most at home on the golf course and hanging out with his beloved dog, MacDonovan (“Mackie”). His jovial nature and relentless positivity brought joy to all who were lucky to know him and he will be deeply missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman as the Celebrant.
