RALPH "BILL" ZIMMERLIN JR. Obituary

Ralph William "Bill" Zimmerlin, Jr., 91, of Piqua, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Brookdale of Piqua. He was born November 30, 1932 in Piqua to the late Ralph W. and Velma C. (Cool) Zimmerlin, Sr. He married Dianne B. Zimmerlin November 28, 1952 at St. Paul's Church in Piqua, and she preceded him in death February 15, 2020.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela (Mark) Hill of Piqua; four grandchildren, Amy (Matthew) Iceman, Daniel (Alison) Hill, Andrew (Kelly) Zimmerlin, and Aaron (Nicole Harlaar) Zimmerlin; three great grandchildren, Ella, Ethan, and Jack; also many other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his son, R. William Zimmerlin, III, and his sister and brother in law, Kathy (George) Unverzagt.

Bill was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1950. He received his Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the Ohio State University. Bill worked as a Loan Officer for many years at the Citizen's National Bank (Western Ohio National Bank) in Covington, People's Bank in Troy, and Covington Savings & Loan and truly enjoyed his job and the people he helped over the years. Bill was very community driven, and was active in various organizations in Covington and Piqua. Bill was previously a member of the Covington Christian Church and more recently a member of St. Paul's Church in Piqua. He loved his church families and was very involved throughout his life. With Bill's Agriculture background he was able to find beauty in nature, and loved to capture it in the form of photography. He also enjoyed going Ocean fishing with friends and family. He was blessed with an innate curiosity, and his ability to ask questions and gain knowledge served him well throughout his career and life. Bill had a great sense of humor, and was quick with a joke to bring a smile to one's face. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Bill. He truly cherished every family member and the time he was able to spend with them. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookdale of Piqua and Day City Hospice for their compassion and care for Bill in recent months.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Bill's life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial was held privately at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to either St. Paul's Church, 500 N.
