Phylis A. Humphreys, 84, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly at 11:22 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Ohio State Medical Center. She was born August 11, 1939 in Graytown to the late Fred and Mayme (Helle) Foss.
Survivors include a son, John Humphreys of Piqua; a daughter, Cathy (Jim) Barhorst of Covington; two grandchildren, Michelle (Swade) Holsinger, Mason (Megan) Barhorst; five great grandchildren, Jadyn, Caine, Lacey, Ryker, Lydia; and two brothers, Arnold (Donna) Foss of Elmore, and Charles Foss of Fremont. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilferd Foss; and a sister, Anna Mae Lenke.
Mrs. Humphreys was a 1957 graduate of Salem Oak Harbor High School and attended Tiffin University. She was a long standing member of St. Paul’s Church where she had been active in many activities and committees over the years. She worked as the office manager for the Piqua Paper Box for many years from which she retired. She then went to work as a teller for Unity National Bank. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, playing cards with her friends and tinkering with her flower garden. She loved country music, as well as traveling around to attend her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s various sporting events.
A service to honor her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith A. Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Dayton 2555 S.
