PHILIP JOSEPH LANGE SR.

Philip J. Lange Sr., 87, of Piqua, passed away at 7:07 a.m. Wednesday June 30, 2021 at Stillwater Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 22, 1933 in Piqua to the late William and Mary Irene (Eller) Lange. He married Helen J. (Stahl) Lange September 22, 1951 in Piqua and she survives.

Other survivors include six children, Philip (Cathy) Lange Jr. of Wapakoneta, Linda (Tim) Lessing of Sidney, George (Lisa) Lange of St. Paris, Teresa “Terry” (Mike) Evans of Piqua, Chris (Linda) Lange of Elkland, Missouri, and Peggy (Tim) Jess of Piqua; also several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a few great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Lange was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and received his Associate’s Degree from Edison State Community College. He retired with many years of service as a draftsman for Chrysler. He was previously on the City of Piqua Planning Board for many years. Phil enjoyed golfing, completing puzzles, reading, gardening, playing poker and shooting pool. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and the rest of the family.

A special time to honor his life will be held privately at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with burial to take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
