PAUL L. WHARTON, III

Paul L. Wharton, III, 73, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 7, 2025 in his home. He was born December 13, 1951 in Cincinnati to the late Paul L. and Mercedes J. (Weiss) Wharton, Jr.

Survivors include his partner of 21 years, Therese Courtney; Therese’s daughter, Leticia (Jody) Krappenbach of Pennsylvania; a sister, Ann (Kenneth) Gall of Lakeside Marblehead; two nieces and a nephew, Laura (Logan) Clevenger, Lisa (Michael) Peters, Lucas (Marie Azzaro) Gall; four great nephews and a great niece, Philip, George, Larkin, Paul, Thomas; and his beloved cats, Ellie and Emmett.

Mr. Wharton was a 1969 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked for Ohio Bell Telephone as a phone technician for 37 years, setting up phone systems. He loved anything with an engine but enjoyed fixing and collecting classic cars and older model motorcycles. He looked forward to his “weekly meetings” at Terry’s Service Station where he would catch up with friends and other auto buffs. He was a private person who lived a quiet life but loved his family deeply and was very giving of himself, his time and his gifts to them. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and close friends

A service to honor his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith A. Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S.
