PAUL D. BURGER

Paul David Burger, 78, of Piqua, passed away at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1943 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Carmel and Pearl (Coppernoll) Burger. He married Beverly (Wenrick) Burger September 14, 1996 in Piqua and she survives.

Other survivors include his children, Bobby (Sandy) Burger, Candy (James) Mullins, Mark (Christy) Burger, and Cindy Christy; his step children, Wendy (Doug) Thompson, Bridget (Richard) Moores, Julia Plessinger, and James Bernardi; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son Charles Wayne; his first wife, Dianna Reed Burger; and his nine brothers and sisters.

Paul went into the service when he was eighteen years old and proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years. Paul was active as a member and Deacon of Trinity Worship Center in Piqua. He worked as a First Class Machinist at Copperweld and retired after 30 years. After retirement, Paul enjoyed working part time at Home Depot and as a driver for Goodwill Easter Seals. Paul was a member of the American Legion Post 184 and enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking and working on his home projects.

A service to honor his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Trinity Worship Center with Pastor Greg Morrow officiating. Burial will follow the service at Miami Memorial Park in Covington with full military honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Mission Fund, 622 Gordon St. Piqua OH 45356.
