Patricia A. “Patty” Liddy, 72, of Troy, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with our Lord at 5:49 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 in her home. She was born June 16, 1950 in Piqua to the late Clayton L. and Margaret R. (Pitstick) Phillis. She married William John “Jack” Liddy April 12, 1969 in Piqua, a union that would span 53 years; and he survives.
Other survivors include three children, John (Kelly) Liddy of Eaton, Amy (Jeff) Lentz of Troy, Mary (Scott) Copen of Troy; ten grandchildren, Jack Liddy, Jacob Liddy, Joshua Liddy, Abby (Andrew) Collins, Justin Liddy, Brandon Beasley, Ryan Beasley, Logan Crawford, Lainey Crawford, Matt Copen; and her two closest friends, Teresa Liddy and Charlie Brannon.
Mrs. Liddy grew up in Piqua and was a 1968 graduate of Piqua Catholic High School. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandparents on the family farm. She worked for many years at Kroger and Pick N Save. More recently she worked for The Hair Company in Sidney where she enjoyed talking with people and making many new friends before she retired. In her spare time she enjoyed designing floral arrangements for weddings, more recently for her granddaughter’s wedding. She also enjoyed gardening and working in her flowerbeds. Patty was an extraordinary cook, and loved to host family gatherings. Additionally, she enjoyed playing cards with the C.C.C.; playing games and sharing laughs. She loved spending time with her grandkids and watching them grow, while also attending many extracurricular activities and taking them on vacations. She will be remembered for her loving and caring attitude toward others as well as her generosity which had no limits. She didn’t know a stranger and was willing to be there for anyone in their time of need. She was dedicated to her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by many.
A gathering of family and friends to honor her life will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. A private service to honor her life will be held at the convenience of the family.
