Ole H. Anderson, 82, of Piqua, passed away at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born August 2, 1941 in Troy to the late Kasper and Marjorie (Furrow) Anderson. He married Carolyn K. Latham August 1, 1964 at St. Boniface Catholic Church; and she survives.
Other survivors include three children, Kelli (Steve) Bowman of Goshen, Indiana, Kurt (Sharyn) Anderson of Camden, Kari (Brian) Stewart of Sidney; eleven grandchildren, Kelsi (Garrett) Heinold, Nicholas Bowman, Nolan Bowman, Nate Bowman, Noah Bowman, Eryk Smith, Kurtis Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Conner Stewart, Kate Stewart, Kara Stewart; two great grandchildren, Eloise Heinold, Elizabeth Heinold; and a brother, Albert Anderson of Troy.
Mr. Anderson was a 1959 graduate of Troy High School. He served proudly in the United States Navy. He worked as a manufacturing tool engineer for the former Delphi and General Motors for 39 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he enjoyed his position as an usher, participated in perpetual adoration at St. Clare Chapel, and previously helped clean the church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3344 where he previously served as Grand Knight as well as the Protective and Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge #833 in Troy. Ole enjoyed shooting firearms as well as researching coins. He will be remembered for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor as he enjoyed making others laugh and sharing in a smile. Most importantly, he loved his family deeply and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas L. Bolte and Rev. Fr. James Duell as Con-Celebrants. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with a Knights of Columbus Service to be held at 6:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church 528 Broadway, Piqua, OH 45356 or Lehman Catholic High School, 2400 St. Mary’s Ave. Sidney, OH 45365.
