NELLIE I. HAMMONS

Nellie I. Hammons, 83, of Piqua, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 17, 1939 in Lima to the late Ernest G. and Louise M. (Newland) Skillman.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbie Rinehart, Mary Pulfer-Tangeman, both of Sidney; five grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Skillman; four sisters, Patricia Heslep, Treva Kinney, Janet Tucker, Maxine Strunk; and her son, R.L. Hammons, Jr.         

Ms. Hammons was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo. Most importantly, she loved her family very much and enjoyed the time she was able to spend with them.

A private service to honor her life will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Nellie’s name to a charity of one’s choosing.
