Nancy Joy Bach, 68, of Piqua, passed away at 10:33 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Grandview Hospital Dayton. She was born December 28, 1952 in Parsons, West Virginia to the late Howard and Mary (Simmons) Sturms.
Survivors include a son, Todd Michael Bach of Troy; two grandchildren, Lauren Bach and Jude Michael Bach; three sisters; Mary Snyder of Parsons, West Virginia, Brenda Shoe of Rosemont, Minnesota, Sheila Johnson of Piqua; and many nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Sturms, Ronald James; two sisters, Ruth Lee James, Martha Simmons; a niece, Erica Laine Johnson; and her fiancé, Dale “Rooster” Lucas.
Joy was a 1971 graduate of Piqua Central High School and retired in 2016 as the Manager of the former Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #54 in Lima. Joy loved her family and enjoyed being together. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She enjoyed reading and a good cup of coffee. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family was truly blessed to have her in their lives and there will never be anyone like her.
A gathering of family and friends to honor her life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to any local charity.
