Myrna M. Cantrell, 86, of Piqua, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Piqua Manor. She was born April 8, 1937 in Dayton to the late Ralph W. and Wincel C. (Pence) Morey.
Survivors include three children, April Smith, Steven Cantrell, and Heather Preddy; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two siblings, Dean Morey and Sonja Huffman; and her partner, Robert "Bob" Brown; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Lynn Morey; and her former husband, Ottis Cantrell.
Myrna was a graduate of Fairview High School in Dayton, Class of 1955. She was a longtime member of Greene Street United Methodist Church. She worked at Publix Supermarket as a Price Scan Coordinator and retired after over 20 years of hard work and dedication. Myrna was a 50 year member of the Ohio Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution, and she enjoyed volunteering at the Upper Valley Medical Center Gift Shop. In her free time, Myrna enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. Myrna loved animals, and greatly cherished her beloved dog, Raider.
Services for Myrna will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire, Ohio. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Order of Eastern Star Service Dog Initiative, 4 Paws for Ability, www.4pawsforability.org.
