MICHAEL "MIKE" J. METZGER

Michael "Mike" J. Metzger, 73, of Piqua, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. He was born August 9, 1952 in Alliance to the late Robert and Donna (Kocher) Metzger. He married Helen (Krisko) Metzger June 4, 1977 in Canton and she survives.

Survivors include three daughters, Angie (Jon) Mautz of Beavercreek, Susie (Adam) Daughenbaugh of Huber Heights and Peggy Metzger of Piqua, two bonus daughters, Julie (Bryan) Scott of Troy and Beth (Mike) Hoglund of Maplewood; ten grandchildren and four siblings, Marcie (Jack) Gibbons of Alliance, Mark (Grace) Metzger of Sebring, Rose (Darwin) Swarthout of Las Vegas, Nevada and Theresa (Dennis) Hill of Alliance.

Mike worked for many years as an accountant. He obtained his bachelor degree from Walsh University in Canton. Mike enjoyed fishing and golfing in his spare time. He also coached and refereed soccer. Mike was an avid lover of all kinds of hats. He mostly loved spending time with his family. Mike was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Steve Shoup as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
