MICHAEL W. BUTTS

Michael W. Butts, 33, of Piqua, more recently of Union City, passed away unexpectedly at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He was born July 7, 1989 in Sidney to William E. (Christen) Butts II of Piqua and Christina Elliott of Sidney.

Other survivors include two sons, Skyler Butts, Owen Butts; his girlfriend, Amanda Valentine and her children, Bayley Valentine and Ryley King; a brother, Dean (Mary) Reedy of Sidney; eight sisters, Brandi Butts of Sidney, Brittany (Ricky White) Current of Troy, Ashley (Ricky McAllister) Current of Dayton, Abigail Current of Dayton, Chelsea Butts of Botkins, Destiny (Jacob Puckhaber) Butts of Piqua, Elizabeth Reedy of Piqua, Hope Elliott of Piqua; a bonus mother, Heather Butts of Piqua; a paternal grandmother, Cheryl Oda of Sidney; his bonus grandparents, Milton and Cheryl Gover of Piqua; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brandon Elliott.

Michael worked various jobs over the years but most recently worked as a contractor for an assortment of improvement projects. He loved music and was a talented writer, composer, and enjoyed free styling. He enjoyed playing video games, keeping up with the latest fashions and enjoyed social media; especially his Tik Tok page. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a true kid at heart and could regularly be found playing with the youngest members of his family. He will be remembered for his smile, fun loving attitude and his zest for life. He will be deeply missed.

A service to honor his life will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Milton Gover officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
