MICHAEL R. BRAGG

Michael R. Bragg, Sr. 71, of Piqua, passed away at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at McNaughten Pointe in Columbus. He was born March 16, 1952 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to the late Owen and Mabel (Triplett) Bragg. He married Rita A. Jacobs March 14, 1975 in Piqua; and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Michael (Paula) Bragg, Jr. of Troy, Steven (Jessica) Bragg of Sydney, Australia; a daughter, Jaclyn (Kyle) Gibson of Galena; nine grandchildren, Devin, Silas, Mahala, Marissa, Grant, Kyle Jr., Kylee, Marshall, Ella; and two brothers, O. Randolph Bragg of Chicago, Illinois, and Robert (Renee) Bragg of Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kylen Gibson.

Mr. Bragg was a 1973 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked for many years as a sandblaster for French Oil Mill, then as a housekeeper for Upper Valley Medical Center and the Ohio Department of Transportation in the interstate rest stops. He was a member of the Shelby County Woodcarving Club and enjoyed attending the Wood Carver’s Round Up. He was also a member of the Redman’s Club and the Troy Eagles. He enjoyed spending his time camping at Poor Farmers Campground. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and attending events and activities with his grandchildren, who he loved deeply.

A service to honor his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. April 11, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Kathy Love officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Michael’s memory may be made to Poor Farmer’s Joy Jar, 7211 N. Lost Creek-Shelby Rd.
