Mary Anne Ryan, 84, of Piqua, more recently of Greenville, passed away at 12:08 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Brethren Retirement Community. She was born September 5, 1940 in Niles, Michigan to the late Donald and Mary (Richard) Dawson.
Mary is survived by three children, Julie (Todd) Kaiser of Piqua, Rob (Shannon) Ryan of Russia, and Shaun Ryan of Sidney; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Christine Ryan; a grandson, Casey; and her brother, Robert Dawson.
Mary was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, and worked in various jobs as an Aide at Garbry Ridge Nursing Home, and she owned and operated the Willowcreek Bait and Tackle shop at Grand Lake St. Marys. Mary was a longtime, faithful member of Living Word Fellowship in Troy and previously had taught Sunday School in Coldwater. Mary loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, she was an animal lover and adored her pets, and enjoyed being in nature and watching the birds. She liked to go garage sale hopping and going to thrift shops, and loved taking road trips, going to Lake Erie, Amish Country and to the beach. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, and her competitive nature made board game nights interesting and memorable. She will surely be missed by all who loved her.
A service to honor Mary's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Living Word Fellowship with Pastor Jill Patel and Pastor Gilbert Welbaum co-officiating. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Miami Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, also at Living Word Fellowship. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Summer Lunch Program for Children. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
