Marlyn P. Stewart, 90, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 12:08 a.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at The Landings of Sidney. She was born March 25, 1933 in Piqua to the late John and Petete (Kerns) Dankworth. She married Jack R. Stewart August 26, 1953 in North Carolina; and he preceded her in death May 7, 2009.
Survivors include a son, Mark (Mary) Stewart of Piqua; two daughters, Linda Smith of Columbus, Lori (Ben) Motter of Piqua; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Doral Stutsman; two sisters, Donalie Williams, Vonna Foster; and a grandson, Russ Stewart.
Mrs. Stewart was a 1951 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Greene Street United Methodist Church. She worked as the secretary for Nicklin Avenue School for 29 years and retired from Piqua City Schools in 1998. She enjoyed working with her hands on crafts, woodworking, painting and flower arranging. She was a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed her time in her Gardening Club.
A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Phil Elmore officiating. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice organization of one’s choosing.
