Marlene K. Richardson, 83, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 12:42 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born July 18, 1942 in Piqua to the late Charles and Wyvona (Tamplin) Eichelberger. She married Robert E. Richardson December 8, 1958 in Fletcher; and he preceded her in death April 9, 2017.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Jennifer) Richardson and Robert Richardson; a daughter, Mindy (Tim) Byers; thirteen grandchildren, Shanya (Adam) Pettijean, Steven Mullin, Jenny Richardson, Stephanie Supinger, Mindy Richardson, Branden Richardson, Kennah (Derrick) Wolfe, Kevin (Alysha) Richardson, Shelby Richardson, Jordan (Austin) Higbee, Kailey (Zach) Zimpher and Zhane (Morgan) Byers; twenty great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Richardson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Eichelberger; a daughter-in-law, Jenni Richardson; a son, Thomas Richardson; and a granddaughter, Emily Faith Richardson.
Mrs. Richardson attended Piqua Central High School and worked in a variety of retail positions throughout her life, including Sears, K-Mart, Shoe Sensation, and Payless. Above all, she dedicated herself to her role as a homemaker, wife, and mother, which she considered her most meaningful work. She enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, where many cherished memories were made. Mrs. Richardson also appreciated a quiet life at home and found joy in crocheting beautiful blankets. She was deeply devoted to raising her family and loved them unconditionally. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N.
