MARK W. HOPKINS

Mark William Hopkins, 75, of Conover, died peacefully on March 23, 2023. Mark was born on March 26, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Brunswick Schools and he went on to graduate from Northwood University, Midland, Michigan in 1970. He earned degrees in Automotive Marketing and Business. He met his wife of 53 years, Susan (Wood) at Northwood in 1968. Together, they raised three beautiful human beings, son Scott, daughters Rebecca (Craig) Davis and Rachel Hopkins as well as seven amazing grandchildren, Olivia, Hayden, Lucy, Jack, Hank Davis and Gabe and Donovan Hopkins. Also surviving are a sister Joan (Jim) Duff; a brother Evan (David Worton) Hopkins; and many extended family and friends. Mark’s family was his greatest love and sense of pride.

Anyone who met Mark knew he had a genius brain for anything automotive and cars were his passion. Known as Dr. Car, his automobile knowledge was known far and wide. As a young child, he could fix anything with patience and skill. He had a knack for finding just the right part for each car.

He was hardworking, honest and giving, always helping people and animals in need yet never wanting recognition. He organized the annual A.B.Graham Car Show in Conover six years ago and it grows each summer.

A memorial service to honor Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Greene Street United Methodist Church, Piqua, OH with a celebration of life gathering at 2:30 PM at the A.B. Graham Memorial Center, Conover, OH to follow. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
