MARK COUCHOT Obituary

Mark A. Couchot, 63, of Piqua, passed away at 1:02 a.m. Saturday July 3, 2021 at his home. He was born July 15, 1957 in Sidney to Jean (Schneider) Couchot of Newport and the late Kenneth Couchot. He married Jean S. “Sandy” Johnston April 13, 1984 in Piqua, and she survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Ashley (Jeremy) Young of Piqua, Andrea (Brandon) Page of Piqua, Lindsey (Brian) Chavers of Troy; a stepson, Jeffery (Terry) Widener of Abilene, Texas; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and three brothers, Carl Couchot, Wayne (Letty) Couchot, and Lester Couchot, all of Piqua. He was preceded in death by a brother John Couchot, and two sisters, Jane Couchot and Susan Arthur.

Mr. Couchot attended Houston Schools. He served as an Army Reservist for many years. He worked as a foundryman for Piqua Emery Foundry for over thirty years. He was a proud member of the United Steelworkers of America and was active with the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion Post #184. He enjoyed working with his hands to repair, restore and remodel homes through his independent business, Shawnee Home Improvements. Additionally, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and his canine companion, Skeeter. 

A time to honor his life will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
