MARGARET L. YOUNG

Margaret L. Young, 97, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Garbry Ridge Assisted Living. She was born April 17, 1926 in Piqua to the late Chester and Clara (Hyatt) Elliott. She married Orland L. Young March 4, 1950 in Piqua; and he preceded her in death November 17, 2007.

Survivors include three children, Linda (Steve) Chambers of Piqua, Bruce (Tracey) Young of Piqua, Carole (Adam) Quillen of Logan; four grandchildren, Jessica Chambers, Darcey Swink, Nathan Quillen, Madison (Jon) Kleinhenz; and three great grandchildren, Cooper Swink, Ashton Quillen, and Ava Quillen. She was preceded in death by a half brother, Albert Elliott and a half sister Anna Mary Woodhouse.

Mrs. Young was a 1945 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She was a life long member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she remained highly active for as long as she could and served as a Deacon in her younger years. She was a wonderful cook and was known to have a sweet tooth and an undying love for chocolate. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family and the time they spent together. She was very influential in her family’s lives, especially her grandchildren who will miss her deeply. She would do anything and everything for her family; as they were the most important aspect of her life.

A private graveside service to honor her life will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington with Rev. Josh Rodriguez officiating. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 325 W.
