LEON A. BASIL
Leon A. Basil, 51, of Sidney, passed away at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born December 20, 1969 in Piqua to Mary (Thorpe) Basil Kimbro of Sidney and the late Irvin Basil.
Survivors include three children, McKal Basil, Isaac Basil, Ava Basil, all of Sidney; three brothers, Keith (Nancy) Basil, Shelby Basil, Chris Basil, all of Piqua; and his girlfriend, Debra Butler of St. Paris. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Cedric.
Mr. Basil was an APF operator with Ross Castings and Innovations. He was an avid sports fan and loved all sports, especially baseball, basketball, boxing, and football. He was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds, Miami Hurricanes, and loved to watch Pernell Whitaker. He enjoyed spending quiet time on his porch, watching the cars. He also liked to cook and liked to eat. Additionally, he loved cars, especially his Camaro.
A graveside service to honor his life will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Vaughn officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1373 Grandview Ave. Suite 200 Columbus, OH 43212.
