Lenita Alberta (Wright) Lyman, 99, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County. She was born July 6, 1925 in Shelby County to the late George Archie and Cora Alice (Slagle) Wright. She married Robert F. Lyman on February 2, 1942 in Troy, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2003.
Alberta graduated from Houston High School and was a former member of Oran Christian Church. She retired from Container Corporation of America. She was an accomplished seamstress, an excellent cook and whose hobbies included ceramics and mushroom hunting in Michigan. She and Bob spent many winters in Florida fishing off the beach and loved to travel by Amtrak, visiting many parts of the United States and Canada. Alberta was a two-time breast cancer survivor. Her greatest joy was her family.
Alberta had three sons, Larry (Toni), Tom (Joyce), and Richard (Sonja). Richard passed in 2022.
Larry's family includes Alberta's granddaughter Kimberly (Jonathen, deceased) Coldren of Hilliard, and great grandson Kory Bryant, and her two great-great grandsons Koltin and Kollin. Her second granddaughter Kelli Lyman (Mary Bergstrom) of Charleston, South Carolina.
Tom's family includes Alberta's granddaughter Lori Miller (Mark) of Mason and her great-grandsons Brady and Casey (Madison), and her great-granddaughter Jessa. Her grandson Jeff Lyman (Michelle) of Piqua and her two great-grandsons Noah and Cade, also of Piqua. Her grandson Chris Lyman (Leshia) of Milford, and her great-grandson Aidan and her great-granddaughter Harper. Her grandson Joe Lyman (Sara) of South Lebanon and her two great-grandsons Nate and Andrew, and her great-granddaughters Maggie and Molli.
Richard's family includes Alberta's granddaughter Stacie of Piqua and her great-grandson Corey Hicks, great-granddaughter Courtney (Pedro Sanchez) and her great-great-grandson Diego and great-great-granddaughter Lilliana. Her grandson Steve and great-grandson Steven of Piqua and her great-granddaughter Chloe.
A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Kris Geise officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County.
