Lawrence Franklin Gardner Jr., 67, of Piqua, passed away at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at his home. He was born July 13, 1958 in Piqua to the late Lawrence Franklin and Louise Geraldine (Bevans) Gardner Sr.
Survivors include son, Lawrence F. (Brenda) Gardner III of Piqua; four grandchildren, Monica Gardner, Meagan Gardner, Makayla Gardner, Mariah Gardner; four great-grandchildren, Kingston Gardner, Keagan Landis, Jonathan Basye, Madelynn Boehringer, two siblings, Louise Larry of Sidney, Lola (Jim) Richmond of Sidney and two fur babies, Bella, Natalie. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Jackie Bevans, Linda Hammons, Lynn Phipps and fur baby, Bruno.
Lawrence was a 1977 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked for over 19 years at Copperweld as a Factory Worker. Lawrence volunteered in his spare time at the Bethany Center. He would patronize the AMVETS and the American Legion to have a cold brew with his friends. He also loved to gamble and spend time with his dogs.
A service to honor his life will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
