Kimberly A. Cox, 62 of Piqua, more recently of Brooksville, Florida passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at her residence. She was born February 1, 1962 in Troy to Arlene (Fogt) Coyne of Piqua and the late Sterkel Coyne.
Along with her mother, she is survived by a sister, Kris (Mike) Ivanowicz of Piqua; a niece, Katie Mickelson; and two nephews, Brandon Ivanowicz, and Haines Ivanowicz.
Kim was a 1980 graduate of Piqua Central High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Florida to pursue her dream of becoming one of the world famous Mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. Following a ten year career as a mermaid, she shifted her focus to being an Account Executive with Euro-American Travel Professionals. Kim loved the ocean and enjoyed swimming. Additionally she adored her cat and enjoyed tending to her beautiful houseplants and gardens.
A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Keith A. Gebhart officiating. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter, 1110 N.
