KENNETH L. MEIRING

Kenneth L. Meiring, 79, of Piqua, passed away at 9:51 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at home. He was born July 10, 1944 in Piqua to the late Charles F. and Ruth I. (Bixler) Meiring. He married Sherri A. (Riley) Meiring April 21, 1993 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and she survives.

Other survivors include three children, Diana Musser, Tiffiney (John) Reed, and Rhonda "Lauren" Delaney; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; eight siblings, Rose Grooms, Rita Booher, Edna (Ralph) Ward, Fredrick (Cheryl) Meiring, Charles (Marcie) Meiring, Loretta Golden, Clarence Meiring, and Erma Gregory; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two siblings, James and Kathleen Meiring; and two brothers in law, Denver Golden and Tom Gregory.

Ken proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a Machinist at Monarch Machine & Tool for over 20 years and was an Over-the-Road Trucker for 13 years. Ken enjoyed attending the Valley Church. Ken liked to woodwork and take care of his yard, and was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. He loved to exercise and take walks with Sherri, and he enjoyed traveling with family and while he was a trucker. Ken was a great cook and baker, and made the family birthday cakes and was affectionately called "Kenny Crocker" by Sherri. Ken had a wonderful sense of humor, but most of all was dedicated and loyal to Sherri and made sure her needs were met before his own. He will truly be missed.

A funeral to honor Ken's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Coulter officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veteran's Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, also at the funeral home.
